Obituary for Shelby Jean Stone (Moore)
Shelby Jean Moore Stone, 84, of Abbeville, formerly of Donalds, wife of the late A. Gordon Stone, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 26, 2022 at home, with her family by her side. She was born in Iva, SC, the daughter of the late James A. (Bye) Moore and Lila Ivester Moore.
Mrs. Stone was a graduate of Dixie High School and Charzanne Beauty School. After many hours of study with Home Health Care, she graduated from Tri County Tech with a Certified Nursing Assistant license. For fourteen years, Mrs. Stone enjoyed caring for the elderly and the elderly loved her. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Honea Path, SC.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her son, Barry M. Stone at age 27, and sisters, Lillie C. Long and Ruth M. Burton.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Stone (Amanda) ; three grandchildren, Amanda Clark (Russell), Tosha Hanna (Jeff), and Dale Dansby (Amanda); and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Rylee and Addyson Dansby.
The family will receive friends from 1:30PM - 2:30PM, Friday, January 28, 2022 in Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Travis Dyar officiating. A private burial will be held in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery, Due West, SC.
The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Amanda Clark,144 Deer Run, Abbeville, SC 29620.
In lieu of flowers, memorials, in memory of Mrs. Stone, may be made to the Southside Adult Sunday School Class, Southside Baptist Church, 1800 Hwy. 178N, Honea Path, SC 29654.
