Obituary for Shelby Ellis (Hawkins)
Shelby H. Ellis, 82, of Abbeville, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Abbeville to the late James Fredrick and Reba Newton Hawkins.
Ms. Ellis spent many years in retail working at Cato’s and Belk Simpson Clothing stores. She was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Hawkins.
Ms. Ellis is survived by her two daughters, Kerry Fleming and her husband Greg and Wanda Thomas Scott both of Abbeville; three sisters, Bertie Faye Evans of Calhoun Falls, Judy Pless and Sandra Carroll both of Abbeville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Ellis, will be a private family service with Mr. John Todd officiating.
