Obituary for Samuel 'Sam' E Sorrow
Sam E. Sorrow, 78, of Abbeville, died Saturday, July 23, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Abbeville to the late Seth Sorrow and Sybil Campbell Sorrow.
Sam, a graduate of Berry College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance, was employed in the banking/finance industry in California, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. He performed with the Los Angeles Opera, San Diego Opera, Atlanta Chamber Opera and the Shakespeare Society. An outdoorsman, Sam enjoyed jogging, swimming, rowing, canoeing and hiking. He was also interested in antiques. Sam was a member of Matthews United Methodist Church, Greenwood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Gipson and Sue Sorrow Hanks,
Sam is survived by his four brothers, Spencer Sorrow (Suzanne), Vic Sorrow (Linda), all of Abbeville, Steve Sorrow (Ruth Terry) of Rome, GA and Stuart Sorrow of Siler City, NC; many nieces and nephew; and his beloved three fur babies.
