Obituary for Rev. Langdon 'Boo' Erwin III
Rev. Langdon Anderson ‘Boo’ Erwin, III, of Abbeville, husband of Sandra Uldrick Erwin, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Abbeville to the late Langdon Anderson Erwin, Jr and Darliene Sorrow Erwin.
Affectionately known as ‘Boo’, he attended Erskine College Seminary and was an ordained Presbyterian and Baptist minister. He served several churches in South Carolina and Tennessee as a dedicated servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ‘Boo’ was employed with Pirelli Cable for 27 years. A Mason and member of Clinton Lodge #3 AFM, he was also a Hejaz Shriner. ‘Boo’ cared about animals and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Erwin.
‘Boo’ is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 58 years; two sons, Steve Erwin and Kevin Erwin and a daughter, Cissy Giles (Jeff), all of Abbeville; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Silk of Coronaca; a sister, Bitsy E. Harrison of Anderson; two brothers, Terry Erwin (Nancy) and Mike Erwin (Nancy) and sister-in-law, Donna Smith Erwin all of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Scott Silk, Kim Werts (Bryan), Chris Giles (Meg) and Cassie Crowe (Matthew); and six great-grandchildren, Mason, Nolan, Braxton, Graysen, Kaden, and Grady.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, November 7, 2021 in the Harris Funeral Home Abbeville Chapel.
