Obituary for Patsy Bowie (Walker)
Patricia Walker ‘Patsy’ Bowie, 72, of Abbeville, wife of 55 years to the late Allen Brown Bowie, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was born in Abbeville to the late John William Walker and Mary Lewis Newell.
A 1967 graduate of Abbeville High School and 1999 graduate of Piedmont Technical College, Patsy was a loyal and dedicated nurse retiring from the Abbeville Area Medical Center emergency department. Favorite times were family visits, which were held as often as possible. She looked forward to her children calling daily and spending time with her son on Saturday’s. Her family held her heart - ‘Mimi, we love you to the moon and back’.
Patsy is survived by her son, Johnny Bowie (Shari) of Saluda; daughter, Brandy Bowie Grimstad (Eric) of Green Bay, WI; sister, Shirley Balchin of Abbeville; and four grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Micheala Bowie, Tyler Bowie, Nathan Fleming and Sarah Ann Fleming.
The family will hold a private celebration of Patsy’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, in memory of Patsy, be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
