Obituary for Mary Pearman (Pruitt)
Mary Pruitt Pearman, 96, wife of the late James F. “Buck” Pearman Jr, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Abbeville Nursing Home.
Born in the Level Land Community, Mrs. Pearman was the daughter of the late Guy Haskell Pruitt and Alma Ashley Pruitt. Employed by the Bank of Greenwood, now First Citizens, she retired after 50 years of service as the Vice President of the Ware Shoals Branch.
An active member of Donalds Baptist Church for many years, she formerly served as treasurer and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Old 96 Tourism Council, Ware Shoals Civic Women’s Club, and an enthusiastic fan of the Clemson Tigers. She was loved dearly by all who knew her and will be remembered for her bright and charismatic spirit.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pearman was preceded in death by a son, John Haskell Pearman and a brother, Rev. Willis Pruitt.
Mrs. Pearman is survived by her son, James F. Pearman, III (Lauri) of Abbeville; daughter-in-law, Drexel A. Pearman of Ware Shoals; a sister, Vivian P. Creswell of the Level Land Community; two grandchildren, Kacy P. Cardarelli (Dan) and Drew Pearman.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30PM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Garrett Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jason Sturkie officiating.
