Obituary for Marcella McDaniel (Salley)

Marcella Salley McDaniel, 75, of Laurens, SC, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Martha Franks Retirement Community in Laurens, SC. She was born in Columbia, SC to the late Harry Gerald and Helen Louise Wilkerson Salley. She later lived in Mauldin, SC and The Renaissance Center in Due West, SC.
Ms. McDaniel, a 1968 graduate of Erskine College in Due West, SC, retired as a teacher after 27 years of dedicated service with the Greenville County School system. She also taught in Biloxi, MS for four years and with the Sylva Learning Center in Greenville, SC for fourteen years. She and her parents were devoted members of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and they enjoyed many happy summers at Bonclarken Conference Center in Flat Rock, NC. Ms. McDaniel later became a member of Brookwood Church in Simpsonville, SC.
She is survived by two sons, Gardner P. McDaniel (Maria) of Evansville, IN and Gavin Y. McDaniel (Laura) of Melbourne, FL; and four grandchildren, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Avery and Luke McDaniel.
Ms. McDaniel loved dogs. During her lifetime, she always had one and sometimes two canine companions. They brought her much joy and comfort over the years.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in the Due West A.R.P. Church Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Draffin officiating.
