Lester Nisly, 84, husband of Edna Hershberger Nisly, died Friday, October 23, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on March 28, 1936 to Edward and Lizzie (Yoder) Nisly, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Mr. Nisly was a charter member of Cold Spring Mennonite Church. He relocated from Hutchinson, Kansas in 1969. Mr. Nisly was the owner of Nisly’s Electric for 44 years. The slogan for his business was ‘Let Us Help You See the Light’. Most importantly, his desire was to show others the light of Jesus.

He also owned a chicken operation. Sunday mornings always found him greeting visitors after church. Mr. Nisly enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with others. Watching and feeding birds were favorite past-times. Interestingly, the birds got excited and knew it was their feeding time. Mr. Nisly spent hours singing, listening to music, and leading songs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harley, Daniel, Elmer and William ‘Bill’ Nisly and two sisters, Vera Mae Nisly and Laura Nisly.

Mr. Nisly is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna, of the home; three daughters, Delores Kauffman (Kevin), Gina Swartzentruber (Glen) and Carolyn Nisly; two sons, Ken Nisly (Gloria) and Wayne Nisly (Leona); two brothers, Larry Nisly (Barbara) and John Fredrick Nisly (Sara); a sister, Barbara Ellen Miller (David E); three sisters-in-law, Iva Nisly, Elizabeth Nisly and Cora Nisly; seventeen grandchildren, Brandon (Krista), Anthony (Melissa), Wesley (Amy), Alanna (Ryan Miller), Kendra, Grant, Kayla, Braden, Rochelle (Chad Miller), Justin (Jalisa), Brad, Cassandra, Landon, Tyler (Larissa), Shannon, Rachel and Shari; ten great-grandchildren and nine honorary grandchildren, Cam and Cooper Freeman, Kolt Collins, Enslee and Ellie Wallace, Jenny Belle Brantly, Annsleigh McCaslan, Taylor Grace Morgan and Titus Speer.
