Obituary for Kathy Parnell Jones
Kathy Parnell Jones, 63, of Calhoun Falls, wife of Glenn Jones, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Abbeville to Sue McLane Parnell and the late Howard Parnell.
Kathy graduated from Calhoun Falls High School, class of 1975, as well as Piedmont Technical College. She was associated with SCANA/SCE&G for several years. Kathy, employed as an R.N. with Self Regional Medical Center in the Women’s Center for 20 years, also served as school nurse at John C. Calhoun Elementary School. Her capable and efficient skills were well-known amongst her co-workers and patients, alike. A talented seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Quilting Club. Kathy will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Glenn; her children, Ashley Jones Warden (Robbie) of Goose Creek and Michael Wayne Jones (Melody) of Calhoun Falls; her mother, Sue, of Calhoun Falls; two brothers, Ken Parnell of Calhoun Falls and Kevin Parnell (Jennifer) of Mt. Pleasant; and five grandchildren, Adalynn and Nathan Jones and Reece, Bennett, and Grady Warden.
A service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be 11:00AM, Saturday, October 24, 2020 in the South Side Baptist Church fellowship hall in Abbeville. Face masks will be required.
