Obituary for Judy Bailey (Bannister)
Judith ‘Judy’ Bannister Bailey, 72, of Donalds, wife of the late Amos ‘Junior’ Bailey, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at Self Regional Medical Center. She was born in Abbeville to the late James Thompson ‘JT’ Bannister and Marguerite Manning Bannister.
A 1967 graduate of Abbeville High School, Judy enjoyed clogging and belly dancing in her early years. She was employed as a cosmetologist for over 50 years. Reading and completing puzzles were some of her favorite hobbies. Judy was a member of Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Time spent with family brought her much joy; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant twin brother, Jimmy Bannister; a sister, Peggy Harmon; and a grandson, Gavin Johnson.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Michelle Bailey (Michelle Provencal) of Donalds and Amanda Bailey Harrell of Calhoun Falls; a brother, David Bannister, of Abbeville County; four grandchildren, Tori Bobo (Charles), Tiffany Richey (Chrissy), Matthew Harrell, and Rylee Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Mia, Aiden, and Easton; and her beloved dog, Lily.
A private family service will be held.
