Obituary for Jean Ouzts (Scott)
Jean Scott Ouzts, 81, of Abbeville, wife of the late Donald ‘Donnie’ McMurry Ouzts, died Thursday, May 4, 2023 at her home. She was born in Abbeville to Georgia Satcher Scott and the late William H. ‘Bud’ Scott.
A 1959 graduate of Abbeville High School, Mrs. Ouzts was employed with the Veterans Affairs office for many years. She was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. Her gracious personality along with her infectious smile attracted family and friends who loved and appreciated her.
In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Ouzts.
Mrs. Ouzts is survived by her son, Chris Ouzts (Nancy) of Abbeville; her mother, Georgia S. Scott of Abbeville; a brother, Ronnie Scott of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Blake Ouzts and T.C. Ouzts and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:30PM on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home in Abbeville. Graveside services will begin at 4:00PM on Sunday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
