Obituary for Jean Hudson Lewis
Jean Addison Hudson Lewis, 84 of Calhoun Falls, SC, wife of the late Donald E. Lewis and the late Mack J. Hudson, died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Anderson, SC to the late William H. and Dolly Shaw Addison.
Jean was a member of Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church. Employed with Burlington Mills, she retired from Mohawk, formerly Bigelow Sanford. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, Nanny, aunt and friend.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Jean was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Lewis and Matt "Fuji" Lewis; grandsons, Robby McCurry; great-grandson, Andrew Dove; stepsons, Al and Mack Hudson Jr.; and siblings, Forrest Addison, Connie Addison, Retha Brown, Willie Grace Lawton and Joyce Powell.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Lewis McCurry (Benny), Valerie Lewis McCurry (Bubba) all of Abbeville; twin brother, Jerry Addison (Lib) of Calhoun Falls, step-daughter's-in-law, Angie and Judy Hudson of Milledgeville, GA; eight grandchildren, Evan McCurry (Jessica), Nicole Lewis, Rose Capell, Justin Lewis (Dallas), Elizabeth Lewis, Samantha Dove (Sam), Savannah Robison (Andrew) and William Lewis; six step-grandchildren, Mackie Hudson, III (Amber), Brittany Mize (Josh), Kelsey Speight (Jeff), Chad Hudson (Jane), Scott Hudson (Heather) and Brooke Balkcom (Richard); and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Jean 's life will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in the Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church, 351 Jackson Street, Calhoun Falls, SC 29628 with Rev. Dr. Frank McCoy officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of the Abbeville Nursing Home and Abbeville Area Medical Center for their loving care of Jean.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, be made to Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 603, Calhoun Falls, SC 29628.
