Obituary for James 'Jim Bob' M. Beauford
James ‘Jim Bob’ Beauford, 68, of Greenwood, husband of Karen Smith Beauford, died Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home. He was born in Abbeville to Billie Jean Todd and the late James A. Beauford.
Jim Bob attended Abbeville High School and retired from the former Pirelli Cable. He was a faithful member of South Side Baptist Church where he previously served as a deacon.
In addition to his father, Jim Bob was preceded in death by a son, Josh Beauford.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; two sons, Jamie Beauford (Shannon) of Abbeville and Rev. Jeremy Beauford (Holly) of Saluda; his mother, Billie Jean, of Abbeville; two brothers, Randy Beauford and Glenn Beauford (Hope); a sister, Mary Gilmer; five grandchildren, Jessica Wilson (Drayton), James Trace Beauford, III, Lily Beauford, Hayden Beauford, and Kate Beauford; and two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Elena Wilson.
A service to celebrate Jim Bob’s life will be 5:00PM, Friday, October 30, 2020 in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. A private family graveside will be held in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials, in memory of Jim Bob, are sent to the Alzheimer’s Association – SC Chapter, 901 South Pain St. – Lower Level, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
