Obituary for Gaye K. Berry (Garner)
Gaye K. Berry, 67, of McCormick, SC, wife of Jay Berry, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert and Eileen Lages Garner.
Gaye, a 1976 graduate of the University of Maryland, was employed for many years as the assistant to the Director of the Mount Vernon Estate. A very active participant at the Rec Center, she greatly enjoyed playing pickle ball with her friends at the Savannah Lakes Rec Center. Gaye was a member of McCormick United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jay of McCormick, SC; son, Adam Kessler (Sarah) of Buffalo, NY; daughter, Sarah Mann (Gordon) of Gypsum, CO; brother, Robert Garner (Marsha) of McCormick, SC; step-son David Berry of Jacksonville, NC; step-daughter Megan Berry Young of Seattle, WA; step granddaughter Olivia Berry of Jacksonville, NC; and two grandsons, Kessler and Gordon Mann of Gypsum, CO.
A celebration of Gaye’s life will be held at McCormick United Methodist Church on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 11:00AM. The service will be live streamed at https://www.mccormickumc.org/livestream/
