Obituary for Donald Thomas Davis Sr.
Donald Thomas Davis, Sr., 75, of Ninety Six, SC, husband of Rebecca Sargent Davis, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Greenwood, SC to the late J.T. Davis and Etheleen Fortner Davis.
Mr. Davis honorably served his country in the United States Army as an Army Paratrooper during the Vietnam War. He was employed with Neptune Measurement Co. in the machine shop, retiring after 29 years of service. Mr. Davis enjoyed deer hunting and working in his yard. He spent happy hours hitting the road on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Mr. Davis was a member of Ninety Six Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Rev. Bobby Raymond Davis, Billy Ray Davis and Harold Eugene Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rebecca, of the home; his children, Donald T. Davis, Jr. (Shonda) of Ninety Six, SC, John Timothy Davis (Katie) of Greenwood, SC, Sam Watkins (Raigon) of Oklahoma City, OK, Donna Lee Gunter (Tony) of Greenwood, SC and Candi Gresham of Ninety Six, SC; sister, Shirley Harvely of Ninety Six, SC; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1:00PM - 2:00PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 in the Ninety Six Church of God. A service to celebrate Mr. Davis’s life will begin at 2:30PM in the church sanctuary with military honors.
