Obituary for Allen 'LouBoo' Bowie

Allen ‘LouBoo’ Bowie, 62, of Abbeville, husband of Debbie Hudson Bowie, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Self Regional Healthcare. He was born in Greenwood to Janie Beasley Bowie and the late Marvin R. Bowie.

Allen attended Abbeville High School and honorably served with the SC National Guard. He was formerly employed with Prysmian Cable, Flexible Tubing, and as an EMT with Abbeville EMS. Allen previously volunteered with Cold Spring Volunteer Fire Department. An active mason with the Clinton Masonic Lodge #3 AFM, he was known for his exceptional cooking and often shared with friends and family. Allen enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He worshipped at Mission Baptist Church.

Allen is survived by his wife of 9 years, Debbie; his mother, Janie, of Abbeville; four sons, Michael ‘Henry’ Bowie (Tracy) of Myrtle Beach, Jeremy Bowie (Lindsey), Derek Bowie (Penny), and Justin Hudson (Lauren), all of Abbeville; a brother, Reid Bowie (Sherry) of Abbeville; a sister, Amanda Bowie of Abbeville; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two more on the way.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:30PM, Friday, February 5, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services with Masonic Rites will follow at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Catoe and Rev. Heath Bowie officiating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks are encouraged and social distancing will be observed.
